Altera Corp trades up after the bell NEW YORK, Oct 15 (Reuters) - Shares in Altera Corp rose to 52-1/2 in after-hours trade on Wednesday, above an unofficial close of 49-7/8, after releasing third quarter diluted earnings results two cents above analysts' projections, traders said. Altera, which makes computer aided engineering development systems, posted diluted earnings per share of $0.40, compared with $0.26 for the year-earlier period. First Call consensus figures showed analysts following the company expected earnings of $0.38 per share for the third quarter.
