Given the thoughtful content of some of your previous posts, this one seemed a bit 'from-the-hip.' If you refer back to your Oct 95 copy of the medical journal 'Obstetrics and Gynecology', you will find an 8 page article detailing the findings of a 24 patient MGH study on the effects of PMS Escape. It was double-blinded, placebo-controlled, and indeed the placebo probably was something along the line of 'sugar water.' Statistically significant differences between PMS Escape and placebo included: improved word recognition memory, decreased self-reported depression, anger, confusion. The placebo had no effect whatsoever on those measures. Now this was a small study, but strong enough to earn publication in a reputable journal.I believe there is a second study which has been in progress, but I have not heard any results as yet. While I do not have any expectations of PMS Escape being a major product, I expect it to perform respectably well, as it did in its regional (primarily New England) launch where it reached $1 million in sales. And my own n=1, uncontrolled, nonblinded study continues to show modest but positive results. It will be interesting to see how the product performs in the expanded launch, after all, those 35 Redux salespeople have to focus on something for now.... NeuroInvestment |
