I can't agree with that difference (rather, I can't find it meaningful). Seems to me that when Rev Hagee says New Orleans was destroyed by the hand of God because of gay behavior, he is presuming to know the mind of God based on his understanding of the bible. Basically he's just attributing to God what HE believes, what he wants to be true. And the sermon Wright preached did the same thing, citing Biblical quote after Biblical quote for justifying why God would Damn America based on its actions, only he was a bit more activist- where Hagee was passive- (who me? NOno, GOD wished it!). That seems about the same to me. They just choose different sins to justify the damnation and serve their own personal hatreds.

As for the endorsement... McCain did solicit Hagee's endorsement and he also refers to Rev Parsley who preaches war and destruction on Islam as a spiritual guide.
That should be a bit alarming.

Personally I don't believe either McCain or Obama think like these men, and I won't be making a decision based on their associations with them. More telling is how they handle the problem.
