Republicans don't like regulation and general governmental interference. I think it's hard to run a system that you don't like in the first place. They end up using it for personal gains rather than for the general good of the country.

I personally believe more in the moving it up syndrome rather than trickle down. If the little guys are fat and happy they will spend more so everyone benefits. More goods and services are being used and more jobs are created to take care of that increased market. It's a win/ win for rich and poor alike.

I don't like academics for government jobs...............they tend not to relate to the real world as well as people who have been forced into more accountability..

I offer Condi Rice as an example.....................smart woman but ineffectual as Sec of State. The hard ball politics of the corporate world better prepare people for high level gov't.........JMHO.
