I suspect that incremental demand is enough to affect the markets- especially if they were well balanced. A system in delicate equilibrium can be upset by quite small changes. It will be interesting to see what happens to oil when the Iraq occupation ceases. I think the occupation is also emotionally affecting the markets- and that will cease also. So when oil comes down, it will be hard to ascertain which things played the largest part. It will be interesting.

The coincidental nature of the war and the price of oil...well...
