I'm amused and perplexed by any of these preachers who presume to speak for God. They don't realize that actually they're violating the commandment 'Thou shall not use the Lord's name in vain'.

People assume that refers mainly to profanity but it has many interpretations. One being to not speak for the Lord or toss his name about lightly, i.e. in vain. Similar to that is vain as a derivation of vanity. So being so presumptuous as to speak for God is a form of vanity.
