Where have all the most appealing men gone? Married young, most of them—and sometimes to women whose most salient characteristic was not their beauty, or passion, or intellect, but their decisiveness.

Which is why men are silly when they say women all want to marry men with money.

Most men who will have money when they are mature don't have money when they are young, but what they do have is earning potential.

I used to wonder why, when I was young, I was attracted to men who wore Oxford shirts to school, but having learned about signaling devices in evolutionary biology I know, although these days young men who are serious about getting ahead in the world probably don't necessarily wear Oxford shirts to school anymore.

I still am impressed by young men who do. They send completely different signals than young men who dress like gangstas, for sure.

My boys (who are now men) wear khaki pants and golf shirts. Maybe I should suggest to Ben that he try Oxford shirts!
