The crucial difference is the current account deficit. If
everyone is indebted including the government, who owns our
debt?

We are facing collapsing debt, falling currency, and soaring
inflation - and, eventually, soaring interest rates. As bad as
it gets. Does not seem you win when
you owe a huge mortgage payment, can't make ends meet,
and essentials soar in price on you? What about your house
when interest rates rise? This is the worst of all worlds.
It's Argentina crisis, a payment for Fed blowing bubbles
for so long, they completely distorted the economy, making
it not self-sufficient.
