Yes, pit them. The stuff I got had cherries without pits and she bought them in cans, but she said they're weren't the kind with all the sugar. When I can, I'll get the recipe from her and post it. This recipe sounds like what I drank.:) I'm not much of a drinker, but I really liked this and you could REALLY smell the alcohol. It was something you wouldn't have a hearty helping of at one time or I think you could really get a buzz on. LOL
