I'll take BP's Statistical Review of World Energy over other sources. Without having to strip out anything or otherwise gerrymander the situation, they showed an increase. Wharfie was wrong. With prices the way they are, it would be surprising if there isn't a decline in production due to a drop in demand. But wait until oil gets back to $30 or $40 a barrel and see what happens. New Zealand has minor hydrocarbons but quite a bit of lignite. Mqurice
