I have my facts straight. The Volt can drive the first 40 miles with no gas. 75% of Americans drive less than 40 miles a day. That means most Americans will not even use gas with the Volt. I know that would be true to me, because my commute is 25 miles round trip.

Then 90% of Americans drive less than 50 miles a day. So for those, they'd get far in excess 100 mpg. So for the vast majority of Americans, what I said was true. Then for those that are doing long trips, they'd still get far more than 50 mpg.

No matter how you slice it, this car could single handled reduce our oil dependence by half or more, if everyone owned one.

What you are trying to do is distract from the fact of my original post on this topic, which is that if we had the political will we could be energy independent in short order. The Volt is proof of that.

You really need to do your own research before you post on topics like this, because your ignorance is on full display.
