Henri Svensmark, a Danish researcher, is doing experimentation that strongly suggests a correlation between Sunspot activity and global temperature. Basically, he has shown that high energy particles from space knock electrons free in our atmosphere and these electrons act as a kind of catalyst for proto-molecule formation seeding increased cloud formation. Increased sunspot activity means an increase in solar wind flow from the sun, increasing shielding of the earth from high energy particles, bringing less cloud formation and thus more heat from solar radiation.

This theory, if proven, relegates the idea of man-made global warming to the backseat, or perhaps the trunk. He has already generated very strong experimental evidence.

Current global warming models do not deal at all with cloud cover.
