Al Gore is only one person.

I don't think so. He claims to speak for the "consensus" and there has been no challenge to that role. He has been acknowledged impressively for his leadership role. If he's not the bellwether, the face of the movement, I don't know who or what is.

It seems to me that there are enough unknowns in the equation to make it clear that no matter what Al Gore, or any other individual, says, we really don't know when that train may be leaving.

That seems obvious to me.

So rather than assuming it's already too late to do anything useful, it probably makes more sense to try to do what we can.

I never suggested otherwise. My argument is with the alarmists and my focus is on the chief alarmist.

So if Al Gore is wrong, then the entire community of people who are concerned about GW is wrong.

We're having an Obama/Wright moment here. Denounce him or be tarred by him. <g>
