I disagree. All movements have leaders. They are either installed or they assume the role. If someone assumes the leadership role, prominent people far and wide recognize it, and no one within the movement challenges it, he owns it. It works just like a peaceful coup. There's no election. It could be the captain of a sports team or the foreman of a jury. That's the way it works.
