A Marine sergeant who became a symbol of resilience as he strove to recover from a roadside bomb blast in Iraq that blanketed 97 percent of his body with burns has died, the Defense Department said. He was 22.

Its probably for the best. He would have had to have been on constant medication the rest of his life and he was horribly disfigured. Its tragic in that he gave his life due to the misguided beliefs of a bunch of ranting ideologues who managed to seize power in this country.
