I had a horse person explain to me that they have bred these animals to be so big with spindly but fast legs that the saying in the business is these are million dollar animals with 10 cent ankles. Belle was a huge horse, almost 18 hands, but look at how slim her legs were. I think they have just bred them to the point that there is too much animal atop those legs. Since it's happening more and more I think I'm probably done watching myself. I think Belle was the 3rd horse of the week to be put down for the same reason. They say the artificial surface fixes a lot of this but I maintain they will just continue to breed as they are and eventually even on the artificial surface this will be happening. Not good.
