and i got exact opposite message from his appearance. He seemed tough as nails on fp. I think he was following TR,s proscription of talk softly and carry a big stick in his response to the question about hillarys annihilation of iran statement.
Iraq has become the gift that keeps on giving to al quaeda and iran. Whether its because we went to war in the first place or fought rummys war and bremers piece is moot. We are where we are--stuck in arabia, minus a strong pakistan ally in south asia, and not enough troops or effort in afganistan.
We talked to our enemies thruout the cold war. Were you against detente? Did you not cringe at talking to Krushchev who said he would bury us, but we did---ALL political parties did. Thus our policy toward iran should at least be somewhat nuanced. And we should recognize that al quaeda is who attacked us and who we are after in afganistan, not the destruction of iran which seems to me a lot like china before we did detente with them. Are their shiaa crazies in iran? Sure. Are there folks there who dont want to see iran destroyed. For sure too.
