I see how they're interwoven with each other just fine. What I don't see his how they contribute to the point you were making at the time you made it.

I had challenged your fiscal restraint. You responded aptly and effectively that you were a Paul supporter. I challenged; you defended; point made; end paragraph.

But the paragraph didn't end. It continued with a gratuitous swipe at Bush. You might as well have made a comment about the color of the tutus at a performance of Swan Lake for all your words added to the point of the paragraph. It didn't even offer a segue into the next paragraph. It was clearly a change of subject, but then you didn't go on to develop the new subject. So to me it looked like weeds in a Japanese garden.

So that's why I asked. I tend to be curious about the way people argue points. I also wondered if and how I was supposed to respond to the new point. That's all.
