OK, just so you don't complain that I'm "dismissing off hand the things [you are] bringing up" <g>

Re the things you are bringing up, the world is certainly a better place if kids don't have asthma. But that doesn't mean that reducing GW pollution will lick asthma let alone better than, say, ridding the world of cats and dogs or that reducing asthma is any more important than something else in making the world a better place or that is it cost effective in doing so. Sure, there are benefits from fighting GW not the least of which is reduced GW, but other things might be more helpful. GW isn't the be all and end all.
