they lost the 3 cents off mean est. bec of cyrx and amd and losing some flash.

The sub $1000 PC's had non-MMX chips in them, and Intel mentioned that it was this End of Life fire sale, which caused the large volumes. These chips also have a lower ASP.

AMD and Cyrix, had very little to do with it, given their volumes, and their price points this Q and the preceding Q.

The flash sales decrease contributed to the lower than estimate EPS.
