We have significant reserves of natural gas as well as coal that can be turned into a liquefied fuel. Well before gas hits $15, the country will be converting more and more of its production to these fuels.

We'll see. What would happen if there was a terrorist attack in the US, or Saudi Arabia? What if a second war broke out in the ME, say Syria and Israel, with Iraq and Hamas and Lebanon thrown into the mix?

It doesn't have to be based on fundamentals, but the fundamentals are not good either. China and India are going to continue to grow faster than our meager efforts at conservation. And the old fields are losing steam a faster than any new production is coming on the market.

I'm not saying gas will go down in price. I am simply saying that $15 per gal. projection may be excessive.
