and have come to tentative conclusion that GW (more properly speaking "climate change") in fact is "the be all [to] end all" phenomenon, at least potentially so.

It seems to me that, if you buy into the predictions, it could hardly be anything else than one's one and only priority, you could not be less than a zealot. If we are looking at catastrophe, the end of life as we know it, maybe even the end of humanity, moderation is no virtue.

And if you don't buy into that, then it's just another environmental problem, about which one can have a measured response, juggling priorities.
