"It belongs to us because we took it!" is arrant nationalism, but you knew that.

Yes, other nations, including my own, have taken property belonging to others who were weaker, but in case you didn't notice, it was condemned at the time as ugly, raw domination.

People point the finger at China now for the same reasons they pointed the finger at Germany in 1939 (invasion of Poland) and America in 1845 (annexation of Texas).

And before you start ranting about "give it back to the Indians," those Indians are long dead, and their descendants, the ones who did not assimilate, are getting rich from casinos on their reservations. As for the ones who assimilated, including yours truly, no, I don't think I should be compensated in 2008 for injustice done in 1608, it wasn't done to me.

Not that this caveat will stop you, you've become a raving nationalist, a very strange spectacle indeed.

Maybe if you let the Tibetans have casinos the rest of the world would not be so angry.
