TP is not that far off. I would go further. I would throw out the code and rewrite it all. Perhaps there is a place for flat tax and fair tax approach as well. If cap gains goes to 20% and death tax is indexed but not repealed in its entirety, and if top rates go up two points and the deficit is reduced, i think thats a net positive. Its when folks talk about redistribution as an end rather that a means is when i get upset. When obama said it was fair to go to 28% on cap gains and would do it even if there was net revenue loss those are the types of things i am referring to. He retracted that btw. I heard him say it and knew he misspoke and he realized that quickly. Now TP may be a redistributor and thats would be bad, but in the situation we find ourselves in, i dont think that what i said i would agree to would hurt the economy.
