Romm's adaptation pieces that I posted earlier were responses to Pielke's articles

Yes, I thought I made that clear. Much easier to read than the duel.

Climate scientists frequently don't know much about economics.

Both areas are very difficult and require specialized knowledge. Certainly the global climate problem requires a collaborating multi-specialty team. Climate science is particularly arcane and concentrated. Comments from scientists who aren't climate scientists are of questionable value.

There are many aspects of the problem, though, that could be addressed by people with other skills. I have in mind the adaptation options. Someone with Dale's skillset, for example, might work on the problem of how to deal with displaced persons. Regulators could look into changing zoning and building requirements to reduce investments in low-lying areas. Think tanks could tackle strategies to stabilize if not reduce populations and draw populations into cities. You don't need to be a climate scientist or an economist for any of that.
