It's not as simple as raising a flat rate. Under capitalism, the rewards of sucess do not get distributed equally. Companies can pioneer a market only to lose out to a better funded organization that copies most of the business plan. This is one reason we have a progressive income tax in which those who receive the most rewards from the system also bear greater responsibility for keeping the system going. TP
