As the world's largest fossil fuel consumer, the U.S. will cope with these exorbitant oil prices by severely curtailing discretionary driving. It'll take some time, but we'll be driving smaller cars, Oil sands and shale development will become economically feasible, new wells will be dug, etc. today's stock market action very impressive; apparently institutions are betting this oil fiasco will not derail slow economic recovery and the worst is behind us.
