The first Gulf War wasn't protested also because we did not go to Baghdad and get bogged down in unnecessary turmoil there. We didn't have a shifting set of strategic objectives, goals and measures for success. In the future I expect that West Point will teach the second Iraq War as a lesson in do's and don'ts with tactical insights from the Surge, and a clear picture how not to approach such a conflict strategically.
