IMO mixed breeds, mongrels if you insist, make better pets; in general, less temperamental. But I wouldn't call anybody a bad name who wants a pure-bred golden retriever, for example <g>.<<

I also don't see any real reason that anyone should breed purebred cats.

PS: I do have a special fondness for goldens, too. I could make an exception in their case, especially since they make such excellent seeing-eye dogs.
