One interesting thing about watching the election coverage on CNN tonight was the commercial, repeated several times, featuring Nancy Pelosi and Newt Gingrich sitting on a couch together. The message of the spot is that the two of them don't agree about much, but they do agree that, as Newt says, "Our country must take action to address climate change."

Nancy says, "We need cleaner forms of energy, and we need them fast."

Newt then says, "If enough of us demand action from our leaders, we can spark the innovation we need."

I was amazed by that commercial, though it was nice to see a Democrat and a Republican actually working together on something. It's just odd to hear the Speaker of the House and the leader of the Republican revolution say that we need to demand action from our "leaders". She is the Democratic leader and even if he isnt in office, Newt still carries as much weight as anybody on the Republican side.
