Yes, I got the analogy of the farthest left Ayers to the farthest right Klan. But terms like MONSTER are definitely dramatic writing. I understood Ayers himself is the farthest thing from Klan.

It would seem that Ayers now is the "associate" of a whole lot of respectable people (although I understand the right's belief that academia is not at all respectable or even sane).

I also will say that if a real connection, not a vaguely "run in the same circles" political one, is made, it becomes more relevant, and would give me pause.
