ASHBURN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 08, 2008
The Department of Defense has awarded Telos(R) Corporation a
contract to implement and support its Defense Manpower Data Center
(DMDC) identity protection and management programs.
The contract, which runs for one year with four, one-year options,
is a new award and continues the support Telos has performed for DMDC
for more than 12 years. The contract has a potential value of $582
million if all options are exercised. It will be performed by a Telos
affiliate, Telos Identity Management Solutions (TIMS), LLC.
"This contract win allows Telos to continue the work it has
performed for DMDC while adding tremendous new capabilities to enhance
the government's programs," said Mark Griffin, president of TIMS.
DMDC is a leader in developing, fielding and maintaining
technologically advanced identity programs for the Department of
Defense, including the Real-time Automated Personnel Identification
System (RAPIDS) program, which issues identification cards to the more
than 10 million active and reserve military members, DoD civilians,
select DoD contractors, military retirees and eligible family members.
In addition to fielding and providing maintenance support for the
RAPIDS system, Telos and TIMS will implement the DMDC enterprise
systems and provide worldwide maintenance support to the Defense
Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) and the Non-Combatant
Evacuation Operations Tracking System. DBIDS provides authentication
support to the DoD Physical Access mission and the Non-Combatant
Evacuation Operations Tracking System provides identification and
tracking capabilities for non-combatants who must be repatriated to
the United States.
