I am not sure if I agree with you that Sandisk hold the cards and there is uncertainty in the company future. If more and more OEMs and digital camera manufacturers sign up Sandisk by this Christmas, then it's very clear which company dominates the flash memory market. Today's Intel announcement that they're doing poorly in flash sales while Sandisk is doing quite well, is another conviction that Sandisk is the winner.

I think that there is much more uncertainty in MRVC than Sandisk. Companies that shop for network switches prefer one stop shopping place which MRVC does not fit the picture. The only plus in MRVC is that it has the leading edge in technology, but it's uncertain how long can the company maintain the leadership.

In restrospect, Sandisk has I believe, 36 patents in flash memory. Its flash is incompatible with Intel's flash, and once you have chosen one type of flash, you're stuck. Sandisk also has 80% of the market.

Btw, I like your CHKPF too.
