Jim,

Don't get me wrong. There are people where I work that don't need expensive computers. These people have always bought low end PC's. My point is that I don't think the cheap PC's are going to displace the traditional growth of the high end PC's.

As for APS's, it was my understanding (and I still have to here the CC first hand) that Intel indicated that CPU ASP's were within their normal tight range but that pricing pressures on flash memory caused the earnings miss and margin decline. Intel has always said that margins will eventually return to the 50% level but they have also been clear in predicting that this will not be due to CPU pricing pressures (which are largely mitigated by cost improvements) but rather by entering/expanding other businesses that do not have equally high margins. Margin dollars is what Intel wants to grow, not margin percentages.
