Ahemn, the bottom half are not being savaged by taxes, they pay no taxes and are subsidized by what is left of the middle class.

And the rich are powerful, that is what money is for, to gain power. And the power is used to gain more riches. Thus it has ever been, and so the American ideal of equality under the law has been corrupted by human nature in under a century.

Tax money is mostly wasted anyway, but wasting it on the poor seems more just; I would agree.
