There is enough risk in the system without even thinking about CDS counterparty failures.

I think that CDS counterparty failure is so huge, so transcendent, that it will be nullified somehow by fiat. Legally difficult, I know, but doable if things get too dire.

Take CDS risk out and we are left with the cold, hard numbers Martenson discusses, which are dire enough.
