OT>...Pray for China today!......China Earthquake...

I woke today to news of a 7.8 earthquake within central China. When I heard reports of buildings rocking thousands of miles away and one report of floor moving from under a man's feet a thousand miles away in Beijing, I became very concerned about the population nearest the epicenter. I was shocked when I learned the epicenter was near Chengdu, the largest city of Sichuan province. So I looked up the population of this area and am now extremely saddened by my findings. This is a HIGHLY populated province of 86 million people. It is perhaps the MOST POPULATED PROVINCE IN CHINA!!

Take a look at this link:
citypopulation.de

The largest toll of human life from a natural disaster in history , was an earthquake in Central China in 1556, just a few hundred miles to the north of this one. 800k + died. Today, the country is far more populated and Sichuan is WAY more populated than Shaanxi was then. This earthquake event could be worse than the Tsunami, Katrina and Myanmar put together.

Another sad thought is that Myanmar (Burma) is located several hundred miles from the epicenter. If buildings were evacuated as far away as Bangkok, then ALL of the people of Myanmar were shaken strongly by this quake today. As if more salt could possibly be poured in the wounds of the people there!

I have no answers today. No wisdom. No plan. Rather, I am humbled, as I consider the level of hell that such a huge number of people feel on this day. And I am once more extremely thankful for the many blessings we have here in America...at all levels of societal status.

Best wishes,
