So why not discuss it?

Especially if it is a weak argument and you can expose the lie with data. That would make Barack's position even stronger. In fact, if that were the case, if a Karl Rove type were running Obama's campaign, he would use tactics that could turn that kind of thing into a positive.

But, the reality is a large segment of the population will not vote for Barack Obama for no other reason than that he is black.

Why would raising that issue be detrimental to Obama's campaign?
