It is hard to see the incentive for further price cuts from Intel. Intel cut prices in anticipation of competition. It shot itself in the foot- cutting prices when its perceived threat had bungled the ramp up of the K6. As long as AMD remains constrained on the supply side, and AMD is only hoping to produce 2 million K6s this quarter, why would Intel want to cut the prices on the 20 million or so processors that it will sell in the quarter?
