Perhaps, although I don't recall any such parading. I think it would depend on how they're using their celebrity -- if they were trying to take advantage of it for putting forth a political agenda it would be hard to say anything about someone criticizing them for it. But I don't remember any of the women doing that at the republican convention.

I believe when anyone takes advantage of their celebrity to make a political statement they open themselves up to criticism for doing so. Whether it is the president, formerly unknown women, or Hollywood. Whether that criticism is justified in context is a different matter.

Ann Coulter makes her living by being over the top, just as Al Franken does. The only real difference is that Franken is an idiot and Coulter is extremely intelligent.
