DELL and CPQ are in excellent positions to grow during the next year to 18 months. Both are agressive and well managed. They serve complementary markets with little direct competition--but that will change as Compaq trys to sell direct. Dell's P/E is higher. I would think it would be easier for CPQ to make significant gains, but every time CPQ climbs on good news, DELL seems to match or better it. I am holding mostly CPQ until the earnings run I expect shows signs of stalling out. Then I will switch to mostly DELL. Last quarter DELL ran up significantly. When DELL stalled, CPQ had started its runup and continued for another 4 weeks.
