Those who are interested in trading on news should know that The Watcher (from Datek) will alert you to fresh news out on any stock that you have entered into your "hot list". We only get to see one line of headline though. Sometimes that is not enough to know what the news is about but it may not matter when you see the effect it has on the stock. It is, however, very fresh. I have recently subscribed to First Alert! It is a real-time e-mail news service. I can not give it any rating yet because I have not seen the same news come out on The Watcher and First Alert! to compare speed. The deal is 40 companies for $250/year. Not too bad. First Alert! says they are fast but I wonder if the e-mail route is capable of real speed. I didn't like BMI's news feed because it is slow and the same news keeps coming in over and over giving me unneccessary interuptions. Does anyone have a real-time news service that works for them?
