Complaint and question:

First for the question -- if anyone is reading this thread, does you broker(s) provide research reports on Daewoo Shipbuilding (DWOSF) or Hyundai (HYHZF) and/or Samsung Heavy Industries (SMSHF)? Please post here which ones do and do not.

I am replying to a news item based on ML research on the above, three Korean shipbuilders. ML does *not* make this research available, however, to U.S. clients. A U.S. client can not even get a quote for DWOSF or SMSHF. Trying to get a quote gives this message: " Requested symbol not found or does not exist."

C covers these companies and makes their research available. Schwab does not cover them. So:

ML - covers but does not make research available
C - covers and makes available
Schwab - does not cover

Complaint: I have called ML in the past, a few times actually, and asked why they do not make their research on non-U.S. companies (other than NYSE ADRs) available. Every time I was told it is against the law. This sounds like a made-up excuse considering C makes their research available.
