I haven't heard Bob mention his forecast in mid-1987, but others on this thread indicate that he was bullish. However, his current model was not in place at that time. Also in his defense, the market did not take long to recover after the '87 crash. In fact, the market had a positive gain in 1987.

His current model has been right on the money. There is, of course, no guarantee that the model will be right next week, month, or year.

I've always had better luck with the buy and hold strategy as well. However, I believe that I will reduce my equity exposure quite a bit if Bob issues a sell signal.
