I think this is a great idea. I suggest discussion focus not just on pharmaceuticals. Do not forget the other areas where biotech is reaching/has reached. For instance the genetically engineered commodities like corn or soybeans that have been in the news recently (the European farmers have such a big problem with Europe importing). I recently read that total R&D for biotechnology is close to $8 billion and is growing. The majority of biotech companies are categorized as small businesses, and the average salary is $50k. Pretty healthy stuff. I completely agree with Guiseppe that I would be a fool to ignore biotech from my portfolio in the next few years. I found that a good web site for biotech information in general is that of the Biotehnology Industry Organization. www.bio.org
