Just the opposite of Jeff Immelt's idea: "General Electric plans to seek buyers for its appliances business, as CEO Immelt continues a push to shed mature industrial businesses in favor of higher-growth technology operations. A sale, which could fetch upward of $5 billion, would end 100 years of GE's involvement with appliances." WSJ.com BRK Owner's Manual, principle #11. Including, "gin rummy managerial behavior (discard your least promising business at each turn) is not our style."
