[Jacob Holdt, Yevgeny Khaldei]

These days I became aware of these two photographers:

Jacob Holdt
en.wikipedia.org
He's a Danish photographer who hitchhiked through the USA for years in the 1970ies. He had a $40 Canon and sold blood plasma to buy film. 20,000 images are available at his Web site:

Yevgeny Khaldei
en.wikipedia.org
He was a Red Army photographer and also covered the Nuremberg trials - a kind of "Russian Robert Capa." Possibly his most famous image is a reconstruction of the moment when the Soviet flag was mounted on the Reichstag.

In Berlin there will be exhibitions on Holdt and Khaldei in the next weeks.
