We know The Hut's same store sales are good. But my guess is that sales for the producers are not so good. Three reasons: (1) proliferation of sunglass brands dilutes the market; (2) foreign sales had to be poor because of the strong dollar; and (3) at least as far as The Hut goes, while same store sales were up, we know they closed a number of unprofitable stores.

I think poor sales for the manufacturers is good news for The Hut business-wise since it means the manufacturers will have to cut prices to promote their sales. Translates into higher margins for The Hut (or bigger sales volume if The Hut should pass on the lower prices to their customers). In the short term, though, poor results for the manufacturers may weigh on The Hut's stock price; glad we seem to be building a new base in the $8+ range. Any dip below $8 would probably be a buying opportunity IMO.
