Yes drugs like viagra are very profitable, but its hardly as if they represent the majority of drugs, new drugs, or research money going in to new drugs. All sorts of life extending drugs get developed. Thinking that the profit motive is preventing this rather than causing it, is a bizarre distortion of reality.
