It makes no sense for Obama to be claiming that he's "shocked, shocked" by Wright's words.

What is really shocking is Obama's surprise at the powerful reaction to the Wright revelations. This shows that his understanding of the nation over which he wants to preside is... lacking. He also misjudged Wright, who refused to keep quiet after being called an old uncle with strange ideas - and instead lashed out back at the Senator, calling him a... politician. That was more than our divinely inspired visionary could take, and the great friendship came to a screeching conclusion. All this would be mildly funny - except that the Senator still has a realistic chance of becoming President.

As for Michelle - if she were smart she would stop once in a while and thank this country for the wonderful opportunities she had in life. No signs of anyone raising the bar for her along the way.
